In Movement, There Is Blessing Retreats:

Trinidad and Tobago 2026

A Yoga and Wellness Retreat with Soraya Latiff

Luxury, Eco-Conscious and CO-ED.

May 24th-May 30th 2026

The Retreat: Ancestral Continuity

In Movement, There Is Blessing is a six-day yoga and wellness retreat rooted in ancestral memory, embodied practice, and collective healing, set in the land and waters of Trinidad & Tobago.

Trinidad’s retreat is the root of this retreat lineage. This retreat carries forward the foundational practices, rhythms, and intentions of the series while offering distinct focus, new experiences, and reimagined familiar offerings for both returning guests and first-time participants.

Hosted in Soraya Latiff’s homeland, this retreat invites you into a slower, intentional way of being—where movement becomes prayer, rest is remembered as wisdom, and community is received as a site of healing.

Practice & Philosophy

The retreat centers Soraya’s signature Liberatory Yoga Flow: a trauma-informed, decolonized vinyasa practice that weaves movement, rest, dreaming, and radical imagination as pathways to personal and collective liberation.

Drawing from her Indo–Afro Caribbean lineage, Soraya also blends African (Kemetic) and Indian (Hatha Vinyasa) traditions with respect for ancestral wisdom, your unique gifts, and collective power.

The retreat name, “In Movement, There Is Blessing,” comes from the Arabic phrase Haraka Baraka, spoken to Soraya in a dream by her grandfather. It embodies the belief that slow, intentional movement—through yoga, breathwork, or energy healing—can unlock blessing and transformation, connecting ancestral roots with collective and personal empowerment.

Community & Care

This retreat is designed to cultivate a relational, trauma-informed community:

  • Time for yourself – rest, reflect, and move at your own pace.

  • Time in community – share space, learn together, and engage with the land, sea, and facilitators.

Soraya’s presence is deeply attuned to each person who will journey, but this is not a corporate or concierge-style trip. Each guest practices self-awareness and honors their own needs while showing consideration in reciprocity for the land, sea, community, other attendees, and facilitators, contributing to a protected and thriving environment.

For New & Returning Guests

Whether this is your first retreat with Soraya or a return to a familiar lineage of practice, you are met exactly where you are.

  • First-time guests: Gently guided through the foundational rhythms that make In Movement, There Is Blessing a complete and nourishing journey.

  • Returning guests: Invited into deeper layers of integration, discernment, and stewardship—experiencing familiar practices through new questions, refined rituals, and an evolved collective arc.

Daily Rhythm

Each day balances movement, reflection, rest, and connection:

  • Morning: Liberatory Yoga Flow + journaling, rooted in ancestral and somatic practices

  • Afternoon: Wellness workshops, optional excursions, and free time for rest or time with the land or water

  • Evening: Gentle restorative practices, meditation, or visualization to support nervous system regulation and integration

Classes and workshops are invitations, not requirements, allowing you to choose your level of participation. The retreat arc moves from grounding and remembering to listening, discerning, and integrating, offering both first-time and returning guests a full, nourishing experience.

Attendees will have free time and any practice and planned offerings are always a choice and not required though the classes are built as part of an intentional journey as well. Each room at Castara has space for you to rest and do you as you need. Just a 2 minute walk from our hotel is a beautiful and quiet beach you are free to spend time at whenever you’d like.

Each day will begin with an awakening morning practice, drawing on ancestral traditions and rooted in trauma-informed approaches, to release tension, clear emotional blockages, and deepen your connection with the Earth, yourself and the collective. You’ll learn to move with intention, honoring the wisdom stored in your body while cultivating a deeper awareness of your breath, energy, and being.

“Soraya’s retreat called me back to myself. That’s one of the first things I journaled when I returned home. Because she organized the In Movement There is Blessing Retreat with such deep care and intention, as soon as we arrived at the retreat center I felt my heart settle.

It was so subtle but so profound, this feeling of having arrived, literally and physically, but also spirtually and fully bodily as well. It’s hard to describe but something in it all said welcome home. I think I heard the sky whisper I love you and I am so happy you are here but maybe that was just Soraya.

Either way I felt it, that deep assurance that I was where I was supposed to and needed to be.

Soraya is special and anything she does is sacred, soul-nourshing and spirit settling. If you have any chance to participate in something she offers please do. You, your former selves, your ancestors and eveyrone you come into contact with after will all thank you.

Soraya has continued to hold us upon our integration. She’s sent us playlists, lovenotes, songs and reminders- all of which she didn’t have to! I’ve gone to other retreats and didn’t feel that continued sense of support.

It’s not quite closure because I don’t feel like anything has ended. Instead, I feel there’s been planting and budding. Like my life has begun again, with a new community of beloveds, a deeper connection to my ancestors and self and a full bodied knowing that I am held and loved in every lifetime. That I am magic, that my life is art and my purpose is to live into that knowing. And so I shall. And so I do.”

Some 2025 testimonies

“Soraya has this beautiful gift of seeing all versions of you while still meeting you exactly where you are. As a mentee/admin & guest teacher for her IMTIB Ireland retreat, it felt exciting and expansive to be held exactly as I was, while simultaneously being seen in more expansive ways. Her intentionality and presence through our time together is both impressive and admirable - she is, exactly who she says she is.

I’m great-full for the experience & knowledge of what it takes to build something as powerful, healing & magnetic as her retreats, I’m the most great-full to have experienced her as a human being, doing really dope and important work.

The In Movement There is Blessing wellness retreats are portals & bridges connecting us back to our most authentic, ancestral and rooted selves - it is and always will be an honor to have been a part of Soraya’s team.

Thank you Soraya , for always creating the space to bring others with you, & holding the space for us to expand in our own ways and within our own timing.

Thank you for speaking to the artist within me and encouraging those gifts to breathe and birth in new & profound ways during our time together.

For creating the space to deepen my own practice with yoga both as a teacher and a student, and to allow access to witness you in those same roles.

What a gift of a lifetime, I will carry the tenderness, the pour, the teachings & lessons with me as I continue to grow and progress forward.

“I see you, and because you see me, I am here”

Retreat Itinerary

Each day offers a rich schedule of healing practices, while honoring that what the body or spirit needs will look different for each person. You’ll have space throughout the retreat to choose what feels most nourishing for you. Outside of fixed meal times, and while all practices and workshops are included, you are invited to move at your own pace. There is also the opportunity to book massages and bodywork at Castara, overlooking the ocean.

The retreat unfolds as a gentle, intentional arc from arrival and embodiment, into sovereignty and ancestral connection, and finally toward integration and re-entry. Practices are offered with care and attunement to the group, the land, and the moment we are collectively arriving in, allowing the retreat to remain responsive while grounded in a clear, supportive container.

Itinerary Notes

Note 1: If you’ll be traveling to or through Trinidad before or after the retreat, please communicate with Soraya as early as possible. While Soraya cannot provide transportation beyond what is included in the retreat, she is happy to share driver contacts, taxi recommendations, and travel tips to support your journey.

Note 2: Wellness workshops are shaped with intention and attunement. Final topics and focus areas will be confirmed approximately one month before the retreat, allowing the offerings to respond to the group, the land, and the collective moment we are arriving in on the world’s clock.

  • We’ll have a brief/optional welcome Zoom where you can ask any questions with Soraya in April. You will receive a few logistical emails with any tips, reminders, support and to collect dietary restrictions leading up to the retreat.

  • This retreat welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences who are committed to self-discovery, community building, and collective growth.

Soraya’s wellness work is rooted in healing justice, acknowledging that our well-being is intertwined with the well-being of those around us, particularly those who have been marginalized, and whose ancestral wisdom and current magic continues to guide necessary shifts in the world.

In this space, people of color, Black people, and Indigenous people will likely make up the majority, as we intentionally center lived experiences that have long been excluded or overlooked in mainstream wellness, continuing to shift the ways that “wellness” is often commodified and appropriated in Western spaces.

Our space is compassionate, supportive, and designed to hold the collective experience alongside individual growth. That means:

    • We practice community care, honoring your needs while respecting the needs of others, the land and the communities sharing their home with us.

    • This is a relational, not a concierge-style experience. The retreat is communal and reciprocal, not transactional.

    • Discomfort may arise—whether from new practices, travel, or sharing experiences with others. Our itinerary also ensures you have space and time for yourself while engaging with the community.. My 2025 retreats both sold out and were filled with incredible people who were good to themselves and to each other in such tender ways. We ask participants to communicate their needs directly and in real time and to take responsibility for their own regulation and impact on the group. Even within this collective framework, Soraya’s practices, space-holding, and spirit attunes to both the individual and the group and gives a level of care that is not often experienced on wellness trips or in community spaces.

If you come with humility, respect, and a willingness to learn from both yourself and others, you will thrive here.

This retreat is co-ed and open to all who share these values.

  • "At this time, there are no further scholarships available for this retreat. We deeply appreciate your understanding. A core aspect of Soraya's work is increasing accessibility within the wellness space, especially for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) whose ancestral wisdom and present-day magic are integral to our collective growth. Soraya’s commitment to mutual aid plays a key role in supporting BIPOC taking up more space in her events."

"Your participation in this retreat helps fund a spot for a BIPOC yoga teacher and/or educator to join Soraya’s mentorship program. This spot for the Trinidad and Tobago retreat has been claimed.

Each retreat with Soraya Latiff provides a fully-funded space in exchange for administrative support pre-retreat and on site for a yoga teacher of color or an educator from school systems who is seeking to expand their work into community spaces outside traditional educational systems."

"Any attendee of this Trinidad retreat who aligns with these criteria will qualify for an energy exchange and mentorship for a future retreat planning opportunity."

  • Castara Retreats where we will be practicing will have yoga mats for attendees available to borrow on the yoga deck so you do not need to however Soraya brings her own and this can also be great if you’d like to be able to practice or use a mat on the beach or in your suite. You can bring a yoga mat as your carry on with some airlines or if you have access to a smaller travel yoga mat this can clip to a backpack or fit into your suitcase. There are some out there that fold or some that roll more compactly. The Castara Deck will have some blocks and bolsters as well and all attendees are welcome to bring their own to ensure you have access when you need it or any tools that you know support your practice or your rest are welcomed.

  • All sessions will be a choice and you are welcome to attend all or none and enjoy the retreat in a way that aligns best to your needs. Soraya will offer some different options through the classes for your pathway of practice. The morning classes may be a bit more energizing and active while the evening will be gentle and grounding however Soraya will intend and attune to the group for each class and center rest, dreaming and slow movement throughout morning and evening classes. All classes will be trauma informed. All experiences with a physical yoga practice are welcomed.

In stillness we remember, in movement we become.
